S.T.E.P. II Mentoring Project:


The Soaring Towards Excellence Program (S.T.E.P.) is a mentoring project coordinated by Youth Connections, Inc. Through the S.T.E.P. II program Youth Connections will achieve its goal of positive youth development through the provision of one-on-one community based mentoring, in addition to an array of services including life skills development, tutorial services, and structured activities.

S.T.E.P. II focuses specifically on children who have a parent and/or guardian incarcerated in a federal, state, or local correction facility. The one-on-one mentoring and other services will improve the well-being of children of prisoners and work to foster constructive relationships amongst all participants for effective intervention and youth development. This will be done through collaboration with faith-based and community organizations and other community resources.
